Our Nursery programme for children aged 3-4 years provides a stimulating, supportive and play-based environment where children can build confidence, develop independence and extend their learning through exploration and discovery.
Following the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), children learn and develop through seven key areas:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Literacy
- Communication and Language Development
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
- Physical Development
At Little Giants, we recognise the importance of hands-on, purposeful learning. Children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, make choices and develop their own ideas. Our teachers carefully plan activities around children’s individual needs and interests while celebrating every giant step in their development.
Literacy and Communication
Children develop their speaking, listening and early literacy skills through stories, songs, conversations and a language-rich environment. They are introduced to Read Write Inc. Phonics, which develops their awareness of letter sounds and helps them begin building the skills needed for early reading and writing.
Mathematics
Early mathematics is developed through play and practical experiences. Children explore numbers, shapes, patterns, comparisons, and measure, developing mathematical language and early problem-solving skills.
Learning Goals
Our Learning Goals help us celebrate each child’s progress and plan meaningful next steps for their individual learning and development. Children have plenty of opportunities to practise and build on these skills through play, guided activities and everyday experiences.
